Haute Hats

Winter solstice has come and gone and we’re well into the deep freeze that is January..but there’s still lots to look forward to when it comes to accessorizing! Here are my picks for trendsetting hats that will keep you warm and right in fashion as you make your way toward (sigh..) SPRING!

I absolutely love the well-placed fedora and there are so many to choose from this season. It’s always my go-to look! I found this Rag and Bone Floppy Brim Fedora in camel at Revolve. It’s easy and fun to wear while it does its job of keeping you protected from the elements. Or try this Eugenia Kim “Georgina” Fedora in black wool with a well-placed royal blue bow…featured at Nordstrom, it’s a striking combination that will work well for you this winter! And I just couldn’t resist featuring this adorable hinge wool Panama Hat with flashy faux jewelry belted-trim! The price is right and it comes in three great colors: black, grey-heather, and red cordovan and goes with everything and enable you to go everywhere in haute style.

I’ll admit it’s hard to get too excited about ski hats but I found this sweet Kate Spade New York Color-Block Hand-Knit number in red! It’s fun, fanciful, and sure to keep you cozy-warm. And as we’ve seen across all facets of accessories this season, you can’t go wrong with anything leopard so try this cute Leopard Print Slouchy Beanie on for size or change it up with this Kyi Kyi Faux Fox Pom-Pom Pull-On hat in blue.

I just love this black, sequin beret from Nasty Gal – just add some sparkle and shine to your repertoire and see where it takes you! Gucci takes grey to a whole new level in this simple wool-felt beret available at Net-a-Porter – sometimes simple is the way to go for elegance and just a pinch of practicality.

Floppy hats are all the rage and they’re easy to love. Throw one on and you’re good to go anywhere, anytime, for any reason! This adorable Aqua velvet Wool Floppy with a wide satin ribbon band from Bloomingdale’s was beckoning to me! Even more fun when you add Bohemian vibes in red and black –  especially when you’re off duty! And this Eric Javits “Shawna” Fringe Model caught my attention as well–black wool with leather trim and weathered studs comes across as luxurious and uber cool! Add a bit of mystery – show off your secretly sassy side as you peer out from under your understated floppy hat..no one will be able to tell what you’re thinking and we like it that way, right?

While winter brings out the cold and wet, it also affords the opportunity, fashion-wise to break away from the usual when it comes to your choices, so brave the winds and take your mind off the cold by….SHOPPING! Shelter from the cold, and all.. Stick with me and you’ll breeze through the winter of 2017 and be first on the scene when the first tulip blooms!
