Giving Gracefully

No pressure – but as of today you’ve got a mere 21 days left to get your act together and serve up the “bestest” Christmas ever! Even less if you’re like me and celebrate Hanukkah! There are only eight shopping days left before the highly anticipated Festival of Lights kicks off! 8 if you celebrate the magical Chanukah holiday week. As I often tell my kids, “Hip hop!”

My suggestions this year will be easy and to the point – give the gifts that are simple and practical – yet still fun to open and enjoy all year long.

Starting with that great guy on your list, whether it be a husband, significant other, father or grown son, one thing is certain: He needs a wallet to carry all his hard, earned cash and credit cards – some sort of organized fashion.  I searched high and low found this Haxford bifold slider in caramel made from soft and genuine crazy-horse leather.  What’s crazy horse leather?  It’s the real deal made using a buffed full-grain leather, that has been further treated by applying a special wax; the leather is soft and durable and ages beautifully over time. With lots of room for cards, credit cards, cash and an ID slot plus a removable money clip!

Just in case he wants or needs to go a little bigger, check out this man bag (or “murse”) that will help him lug around more of his “stuff”. You can always count on Michael Kors and he’s come up with this JetSet logo crossbody available in your choice of black or brown. He can take command of his busy schedule with a stylish carryall that keeps all his essentials organized and easy to access.

I find it easier to shop for women because – let’s face it—women need and want everything! And with several new iPhones out there in the past month, why not go for a whimsical, blingy case to wrap up the whole package? Glam and glitz are always in fashion so why not look for something that will really stand out? Zazzle presents loads of super ideas for blingy personalized iPhone cases, so check out their website. If you know someone who was lucky enough to snag an iPhone X, you’ve just got to get a CaseMate iridescent diamond case.

For other iPhone models you owe it to yourself to gift a Rebecca Minkoff waterfall glitter case available at Neiman Marcus.

Got a great daughter, daughter-in-law or granddaughter on your list?  They love anything personalized so you can’t go wrong with a simple initial drop made from old typewriter keys! Check out the great selection on Etsy for a truly retro holiday surprise. The looks featured authentic keys gleaned from vintage and antique typewriters – just exquisite.

For any occasion don’t forget the sweets!  Feel free to indulge in these adorable stocking- stuffer, individually wrapped gems from William Dean chocolates. They’re hand-painted and dusted with metallic cocoa butter. Delish! Take your pick of dark or milk chocolate in symbols of the season: Santa, dreidels, and snowmen. They are all preservative-free but loaded with fun and merriment and good taste, all at an affordable price. Slip a few to a favorite person in your life and watch for the smiles!

Anything you need you know – I’m on it!   Put some fun in your shopping this year and let me know what else you’re discovering along the way. And a special Happy Holiday wish from my family to yours! xxx
